Birders 18 years and under are invited to join us for this young birders outing at Lake Elberta Park. This is an opportunity to for them to connect with and get to know each other while we enjoy spring migration and see a variety of birds.
Adults with children are also welcome to join and participate with their child. We have loaner binoculars available. If you need a pair for your kids or for yourself, please let us know when you register.

The parking lot at the main entrance to the park on Lake Bradford Rd. is small, but additional parking is available on FAMU Way, close to the Stearns St. park entrance. There's also a 20-spot parking lot off of the roundabout at FAMU Way and Robert and Trudie Perkins Way (just west of Stearns St.). It’s about a 3 minute walk from the parking lot to the Stearns St. entrance of the park.

Juli deGrummond is a lifelong birder and is currently serving as an AAS Board Member. She is credited with two rare bird sightings at Lake Elberta Park—a mega-rare White Wagtail (Eurasian species) in late 2022 and a Couch’s Kingbird in late 2023, the first documented sighting in Florida of this Mexican/Central American species.
