James Carr

Secretary

James (or Jim) is a transplant from Michigan, where he earned his PhD in physics from Michigan State, and has remained rooted in Tallahassee for the last 41 years. He retired a few years ago from teaching physics as a professor at TCC. In addition to being willing to do the secretarial work for the board, he brings the perspective of someone who does NOT have an official life list !! but does keep records in an old field guide. He's been a casual birder and star watcher since Cub Scouts. Some of you have seen the result of his conversion of a boring residential lot into a bird-friendly yard; his garden has expanded to include native pollinator plants over the last 5 years. He's volunteered on several Audubon projects at Lake Elberta and enjoys visiting different places on bird strolls. He also enjoys hiking and insect watching and used to be an avid skier and car racer.
